My daughter received this Carebear for her birthday and loves it. We were surprised to see that even the fur will glow in the dark. Another surprise was how long it would glow. We are very happy with it and are considering purchasing another. The seller shipped the item very quickly and the 2 bears were packed very well.
I did lower educational value, since for us this is just a fun toy. The price does appear to go up and down (as I watched the price afterwards). We must have found it at a great time.

Got these for the kids, so they wouldn't be scared to sleep in their own room, as it glows in the dark until they fall asleep! The whole thing really does glow without batteries! All toys have educational value for play, and this one is "Share Bear" to remind the kids to share, which we have been having to reinforce a lot lately!

I bought 2 this year, one for my grand daughter and one for my child from the Giving Tree. After watching my grand-daughter (3 1/2) with this one, I would say it is definitely for younger children - this is one she played with for about 5 minutes and was done with. Although Care Bears are great, I definitely recommend this for a younger child.

makes a great gift! very cuddly and it was exactly what I expected except it doesn't need batteries to glow like what the description says. You just hold it up under a light for 30 secs and it glows in the dark.
