I miss the classic pictures, but it's okay.Apr 02, 2010 I miss the old style game I played when I was a kid, but this one still gets the job done. I use it as an educational tool (I'm a school counselor) and it helps kids understand that their actions have consequences that can be good or bad.
Classic game, but could use a makeoverMar 02, 2010 I'd love to see chutes and ladders redone with more durable pieces and a more durable board. But...this game will always be in our home :)

NEW PARENTS PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW...Dec 10, 2009 There are three items* SOMEONE should warn parents about before they buy them. This is one of them. I only wish someone had told ME years ago...
Yes, this game is cute and easy to play. Yes, it's famous. And yes, it's probably educational.
But be warned - it is THE most boring game in the universe. After ten minutes you will find yourself in a stupor. You'll look at the board and begin trying to calculate how much time it will take for the game to END. Soon you'll feel the urge to throw your chair through the window...not the loving-family-ambience you were expecting.
AND EVERY TIME YOU THINK THE GAME IS JUST ABOUT OVER, YOUR KID FALLS DOWN A CHUTE AND HAS TO START OVER ALMOST AT THE BEGINNING. You will find yourself lying to your children, telling them a "2" means "Move 4", and secretly scribbling over the chutes at midnight with a fat-tipped indelible black marker while spouting gibberish and drooling.
Let your kids play this at pre-school. Give it to the grandparents. JUST DO NOT ALLOW THIS GAME IN YOUR HOUSE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY.
*the other two are Candy Land and the book "The Little Engine That Could"
Excellent game for youngsters. You cannot go wrong.Nov 28, 2009 This is a long time favorite game. It's not an electronic gadget or video game. Board and dice, but it's extremely simple, exicting, and just a lot fun. You'll all definitely have fun with this game.

my preschooler does NOT like this game!Oct 05, 2009 Terrible!! I remember playing this game as a kid and really enjoyed it and so we bought it for our almost-4-year-old daughter. She loves Candyland, UNO, matching games, Old Maid, Go Fish, Sorry, etc...but really does not like this game. We gave it to Goodwill after playing one time. The board is very hard to decipher (nothing like I remember as a kid) and it's simply too boring for her. Do NOT bother with this game.
