Good fun toy to build for a 6+ year oldApr 20, 2010 We gave this to our sitters 6 year old boy. He loves it. My 3 year old played with it also but it is a bit tough for her to build this without help. Perfect for a 6 year old boy or older. Did have problems with screws staying tight.

Good Building ToyJan 28, 2010 My two Sons have a great time putting these together. Instructions are clear enough for them to follow and also provides them an opportunity to work with some tools.

Pretty good for whom the intended audience is.Nov 04, 2009 I bought this for my son's 6th birthday. Currently he can build complex lego models by only seeing an item, like a space ship. I thought the next logical step would be an erector set. When I was a kid the erector sets were metal and razor sharp. This set contains pretty good directions for the kids to follow. For younger ones I suggest this be a adult/child project. While the kids can probably put together fairly well, some of the directions did not work out at all and some creativity was required to get them to work right.
Pros:
>> Plastic pieces with simple to use included tools teach kids how to use fasteners and components to build things
>> Objects are large enough to handle for smaller hands.
Cons:
<< Several of the directions indicate to use a red or yellow bolt when there is absolutely no way for that bolt to reach the nut on the other side. Requires modifying the build to achieve success. (Crane for example).
Overall a fine product for future engineers or mechanically inclined children.

Wonderful toy for little buildersJan 19, 2009 Santa brought this toy for our 4 year old and he has really enjoyed it. The pieces are sturdy and easy for little hands to use as intended. He builds all sorts of creations and has just as much fun taking them apart and sorting the pieces into compartments. I do not love the locking handle on the container's lid as it is difficult to latch, even for grown-ups. I would recommend this toy for anyone who has a child interested in building and tools.

Good beginner Erector SetJan 11, 2009 My son enjoyed putting this together with his dad, but Dad actually had to do more of the work. Perhaps with more practice my 5 year old will be able to put together more on his own. Over all, this is a good toy and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a creative gift.
